HARDWARE
Gilson 321 / 322 HPLC Pumps are reciprocating piston pumps for use in analytical and small-scale preparative chromatography (2mm to 20 mm bore columns). They are capable of multiple solvent delivery under high pressure (two solvents for the standard configuration).
321 Pumps are master pumps designed to pump from one to four solvents, they are equipped with two pump heads, which are used in such a way that each head acts as a separate pump. They also have a pressure module, a dynamic mixer, a purge valve, and an outlet filter.
321 Pumps have a control panel (integral keypad and screen) for configuring, programming, and coordinating with other equipment (pumps, detectors, injectors, etc.). They my be controlled by their own software using control panel, or by PC base software and GSIOC (Gilson Serial Input-Output Channel) commands.
334 Pumps are designed as slave pumps; they are similarly equipped, but without the control panel. All references to software apply to the controlling device, be it a 321 Pump or a computer.
SOFTWARE
Programming consists of entering configuration details for the pump, and then a sequence of events (flow rate, composition, electrical contacts, etc.) as a Method Program.
By means of the pre-installed software (or PC based software), a 321 Pump may be used to control up to two other pumps, these are: a 322 Pump (the slave version of 321), Gilson 30X Series Pumps (with any head), or another 321 Pump; depending upon the configuration.
Coordination with any other instrument is carried out by electrical contacts.
The 506341 Gilson Barrier Strip Connector may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
