760-SM20-0-115 Metraplex Hybrid Data Measurement System

The Metraplex Microsystems 760 Series Hybrid Data Measurement System provides the ability to measure broadband to the device under test, as vibration, flutter, and structural tests. It integrates signal conditioning, calibration, and FM multiplexing in a single compact package. Each channel contains its own card signal conditioning, calibration circuit and VCO. It meets the requests of MIL- STD-810C, and was qualified for flight in the F-15D and Titan IV Space Booster.

The 760 Hybrid Data Acquisition Systems is the data acquisition used on the Boeing B-727 to acquire analog and different forms of digital data and creates a pulse-code modulated encoded bit stream as an output. The PCM 760 decoding card is used to decode the PCM bit stream from the Metraplex system. The PCM decoding card utilizes two source files to decode the PCM bit stream and create a data "frame" which contains all data channels, time code, and other important frame information. The data frame is then saved as a binary sequential data file, along with an ASCII "playback" file which contains the time code information. The signal file and the format file are the two source files utilized by the EE315 software to make binary sequential data files from the encoded PCM data stream. It is important to note that not every test employed the same signal file, or even the same channels, since the EE315 software allows the option of saving some or all of the channels specified in the Metraplex data frame.

This equipment is used to acquire, condition, digitize, and encode sensor data during military vehicle testing as well. This system uses a series of circuit cards connected in various combinations to measure external data (modular). The equipment shall be small enough to fit in the vehicles being tested, ruggedized, and operate using vehicle power. This equipment must be compatible with the existing HDMS Model 760 from Metraplex Corporation.
