The Hamamatsu C4880-21 Digital CCD Camera System is equipped with a CCD S7170 manufactured by Hamamatsu. In addition to outstanding quantum efficiency in the ultra violet to near infrared region, which is a feature of the back-thinned illumination type, this system offers high quantum efficiency in the ultraviolet region as well, drawing on original technology developed independently by HAMAMATSU. It offers a wide dynamic range, due to the large cell size and the extremely large full well capacity. Furthermore, the use of the MPP (Multi-Pinned Phase) low dark current drive method has reduced the dark current.
The Hamamatsu C4880-50 Digital CCD Camera System employs a back thinned CCD chip which realizes high resolution and high sensitivity characteristics. 1024 x 1024 pixels with 13 µm square format realize very high resolution images. And its high quantum efficiency grater than 80% and a MPP (Multi-Pinned Phase) low dark current drvie realize high sensitivity, proving clear images for low light imaging applications.
The Hamamatsu C4880-80 Fast Scan Multi Format Cooled CCD Camera System is a low noise/high frame rate camera system that maintains the superb noise characteristic of the conventional cooled CCD camera, while at the same time adding high speed. In order to achieve both high speed and a low noise characteristic, a progressive scan interline CCD is used, which eliminates the need for a mechanical shutter. This means that problems such as vibration caused by the mechanical shutter at high frame rates, and the lifetime of the mechanical shutter, have been completely eliminated. In addition, taking advantage of the low dark current characteristic of the CCD used in these models, cooling can be suppressed to the minimum necessary level, and by switching from a conventional forced cooling system to a system which discharges heat by natural means, operation is significantly improved.
The Hamamatsu C4880-91 and C4880-92 Digital CCD Camera System has an image intensifier ( Φ 18 mm dia.) coupled through a fiber optics to Hamamatsu's CCD S5466. This provides ultra-high sensitivity. Under a low light level region that requires a long time exposure time, this camera can acquire equivalent S/N images within a shorter period of time. Furthermore, the ultra high speed gating function (shortest gate time: 5 ns) and gate repetition function (maximum rate: 10 kHz) have been implemented. Acquisition of images in synchronization with repetitive phenomenon enables image accumulation by the CCD. This provides images with a higher S/N ratio compared to accumulation using memory.

Excellent company, employees, and service! Tim, Ann, and Todd are stellar to work with during transactions.
Have dealt with Artisan for over a decade and have always found them to be knowledgeable, professional and have a great inventory to choose from! Great company!
We have some test equipment in our lab from the 1990's that stopped working about 2 years ago. It sat in the corner collecting dust, but we took on a project last month that required more machines. After talking to Artisan, we found out we could get parts to fix our machine for much less than buying a new one!
Don’t worry about damage to your items during shipping – the box ours came in could have taken a beating and would have still survived!
