The Comark 43939 PC/104 0V to 30V Input 16-Channel AC/DC Input Module is an optically isolated, sixteen channel input interface, engineered for sensing, automation and control applications. The module is designed to operate with inputs of 0 to 30 volts AC or DC. Inputs can be mixed between AC and DC on one board and the inputs are not polarity sensitive. Direct current sensor outputs driven from standard 12/24 VAC control transformers are easily handled. The heart of the PC/104 0-30VI is the input optocouplers with gallium arsenide, dual diode, infrared sources, connected in an inverse parallel configuration, coupled to a silicon NPN photo-transistor. This features high electrical isolation (2.5kV RMS), and high speed switching, typically on the order of four msec. (10 msec. max). Also featured on the PC/104 0-30VI input interface is a user selectable address switch, standard DB37 input connector, dual eight bit data buffers, and low pass filter circuitry for use with 50 - 70 Hz AC signals, or to eliminate spurious voltage spikes which may give rise to false input signals. The filter may be removed to allow for faster response DC sensing applications. The 16-channels of
data can be read in (2) 8-bit bytes or (1) 16-bit word.
