The Curtiss Wright / Pentland Systems MPV990 Analog Input Anti-Aliasing Filter Board is a four-channel anti-aliasing (low-pass) filter board mechanically compatible with the VMEbus. Anti-aliasing filters are frequently required in high accuracy data systems in order to reduce the distortion effect of out of band frequencies mixing with the sampling frequency to produce in-band frequency components. The MPV990 incorporates 4 independent anti-aliasing filter circuits. The inputs are connected via 4 BNC connectors and the outputs via a 37 way 'D' type connector. The analog input section features a programmable gain instrumentation amplifier, the gain of which can be set to any value between 0.1 and 10,000. The filter section features a low pass filter with a definable cut-off frequency in the range 2Hz to 20kHz. The roll-off is 100dB/octave with a minimum stop band attenuation of 60dB. The output section is compatible with Pentland Systems' existing range of VMEbus analog input boards, such as the MPV908 series. For applications in which increased output drive capability from the filter is required, a user selected amplifier may be added.
