Commtech 422/2-PCI Fastcom Two-Channel Interface Adapter Overview
Features:
- (2) Independent RS422 / RS485 Channels
- Excellent Line Noise Immunity
- Direct Control of Line Drivers Through RTS, or Automatic Control of Line Drivers Under Special UART Mode Using OUT1 Signal
The advanced 16C850 UART on the Fastcom 422/2-PCI features full compatibility with standard 16C550 and 16C650 UARTs, and they also receive and transmit 128-byte FIFOs for buffering. This buffering is extremely important when working with high-overhead operating systems such as Windows NT and 2000. The extra-deep FIFOs prevent data loss due to overrun and dramatically improve data throughput in all applications.
The Commtech 422/2-PCI Fastcom Two-Channel Interface Adapter may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
