More Information

Newport / New Focus 2317 1 MHz Large-Area Adjustable-Gain Balanced Photoreceiver Overview

Features:

  • Reduces Common-Mode Noise by 40 dB So You Can See Your Signal
  • Large-Area Diodes for Easy Alignment
  • Adjustable Gain Settings
The Newport / New Focus 23x7 Series 1 MHz Large-Area Adjustable-Gain Balanced Photoreceivers take the headache out of aligning (and re-aligning) your beams onto the photodetectors. Now you can tweak your experiment without worrying about beam wander. And just like all our other balanced photoreceivers, they are ideal for coherent heterodyne-detection applications including doppler LIDAR, and can make the difference when you need to see a small signal.

The 23x7 Series balanced photoreceivers work by subtracting the photocurrent from two well-matched photodetectors. Common-mode noise that is present on both the reference and signal beams (such as laser intensity noise) is cancelled out and doesn't appear as part of the signal.

The New Focus 2317 1 MHz Large-Area Adjustable-Gain Balanced Photoreceiver may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
