Description
This Horiba / Spex 1404 Double Monochromator is used and in excellent condition. This option is the instrument only, without any additional external electronics or control boxes. It is sold as pictured.
This unit was pulled from a working system and has since been in storage. The gratings have some smudges (see close-up photos here and here), and they were removed for identification. The gratings will also need to be cleaned and aligned before operating. This unit also has (3) external 3 mm Slits/Verniers and (2) internal 3 mm Slits/Verniers.

The Horiba / Spex 1404 Double Monochrometer uses double mirror set up to ensure better diffusion of light. The 1404 has adjustable slits at the input, output, and in between cavity ports. This unit is also known as the Spex 1404 0.85m Double Spectrometer.
The Horiba 1404 Double Monochromator may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
