The WYKO RST (Rough Surface Tester) is a surface profiler that uses optical interference techniques to perform non-contact, very sensitive 3D surface profilometry and surface roughness characterisation. The instrument may operate in two distinct measurement modes; firstly optical phase-shifting mode, for use with reflective, mirror-like objects and secondly vertical-scanning mode, for use with rougher surfaces.

Wyko was acquired by Veeco Instruments in 1997.

The Veeco RST-Plus Rough Surface Tester Optical Profilometer may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
