The Motorola SYS68K / CPU-1 Series Single Board Computer is a high performance single board computer that combines the powerful 16/32 bit microprocessor, the 6800, with the 128/512KB DRAM, a maximum of 128KB of ROM/EPROM and powerful I/O devices.
The on-board real-time-clock, the three serial I/O interfaces, the parallel I/O and the time offer a wide variety of functions for the SYS68K/CPU-1 Series.
Easy access to these devices is provided by the ROM resident SYSTEM MONITOR called the SYS68K-1 monitor. This powerful software package can be used for program development and debugging.
The SYS68K/CPU-1 Series has been developed as a sophisticated VMEbus board which may be used in multiprocessing environment as a number crunching unit, as a peripheral controller board or as a "stand-alone unit" because of its I/O and timer functions.
The usage of this board in critical real-time applications is enable through the fast on-board dynamic RAM and the increasable microprocessor clock frequency (8 or 10 MHz).
The CPU-1B Motorola SYS68K Single Board Computer may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
