The Pentek 4290 Configurable Quad Processor features Texas Instruments' TMS320C6201 fixed-point digital signal processor which employs the VelociTI™ architecture to achieve a remarkable 1600 MIPS performance. Incorporating four of these devices, the Model 4290 is a single-slot 6U VMEbus board delivering up to 6400 MIPS of processing power and a wealth of high-speed interface options to handle the 'C6201's voracious appetite for data.
The Pentek 4290 Configurable Quad Processor may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Functions
Quad-channel digital signal processing platform supporting configurable FPGA-based algorithms for real-time data acquisition and processing. Features high-speed ADC/DAC interfaces, programmable logic for custom signal processing implementations, and multi-channel synchronous operation. Interfaces via high-bandwidth backplane connections and front-panel I/O for external timing and triggers. Daughtercard architecture enables application-specific analog front-ends or digital interfaces. Supports parallel processing architectures with inter-processor communication. Common applications include radar signal processing, software-defined radio, electronic warfare systems, and scientific instrumentation requiring synchronized multi-channel acquisition and real-time processing capabilities.
