ABB REB670*2.2-F00X00 Busbar Protection IED

The ABB REB670 is a member of the Relion® 670 series of Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) designed for high-speed busbar differential protection in medium-voltage, high-voltage, and extra-high-voltage substations. The platform provides selective busbar protection, dynamic zone selection, breaker failure protection support, event recording, disturbance recording, and substation automation integration within a single protection relay.

The REB670 is engineered for protection of busbars, T-connections, ring bus systems, double-bus configurations, one-and-a-half breaker schemes, and other complex switchyard layouts. Using low-impedance differential protection techniques, the REB670 delivers rapid fault detection and isolation while maintaining stability during heavy CT saturation and external fault conditions. Typical internal fault clearing times are approximately 12 ms.

The Relion 670 platform integrates communications, monitoring, event logging, disturbance recording, logic control, and protection functions into a configurable substation protection system suitable for utility, industrial, transmission, and distribution network installations. The example unit shown is an ABB-built REB670 with full-size 19-inch enclosure and extensive CT input, I/O, and communications capability.
