The Newport / Oriel 70710 Current Preamplifier is designed with a wide dynamic range and linearity. The 70710 Preamplifier is ideal for use with PMT's and photo-diodes when being used to convert current to voltage. The Oriel 70710 features a gain switch, which is adjusted depending on the desired ampere conversion ratio desired. With its relatively low impedance, the Oriel 70710 is the preamplifier of choice when obtaining a wide linear dynamic range of photo-diodes. With efficiency in mind, along with its compact design, the 70710 model features a low noise rating when in operation. The Newport / Oriel 70710 Preamplifier is compatible with PMT, GaN, InGaAs, and Silicon types of detectors. When configuring the 70710 Preamplifier, both the gain and time constant switches can be adjusted to configure the desired bandwidth.
The Oriel 70710PV Current Preamplifier may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Converts minute input currents from photodetectors to proportional output voltages via a transimpedance amplifier, providing high gain, low input-noise, and low leakage to enable femtoamp-to-microamp measurements. Delivers stable dc and low-frequency response with programmable gain and calibrated output ranges; supports low-noise conditioning of photodiode signals, with shielding and guard options to minimize leakage and drift. Includes input protection, offset adjust, and compatibility with external load, filter, and power supply for precision optical measurements.
