Reads CD-ROM, CD-R, and CD-RW media at up to 24x speed. Supports standard 120mm and 80mm optical discs with 650-700MB capacity. Interfaces via 40-pin IDE/ATAPI connection to computer motherboard or controller card. Requires 5.25" drive bay mounting with standard 4-pin Molex power connector. Provides digital audio extraction and multi-session disc reading capabilities. Compatible with ISO 9660, Joliet, and UDF file systems. Used for software installation, data retrieval, audio playback, and archival data access in desktop computers and workstations.
