7010 Berkeley Nucleonics Digital Delay Generator

The Berkeley Nucleonics 7010 Digital Delay Generator is a multipurpose precision time delay generator with four digital functions: time delay, gate-width, period, and events dividing. Time resolution is selectable in five steps of from 0.1 microsecond to 1 millisecond increments, which provides a full timing range of 100 nanoseconds to 100 seconds.

The varied capabilities of the 7010 result in an extensive range of timing, triggering, duration, and sequencing applications for which the unit can be used, often eliminating the need to build one-shots and other special timing devices. In most disciplines, experimental situations exist where a low-cost digital time control instrument would be a valuable asset.

The interval for any of the time control functions is present manually with thumbwheel switches or can be remotely programmed with BCD control. A 10 MHz crystal provides accurate clock pulses for the time base and can also be used for external synchronizing purposes.

The main output pulses have less than 10 nanosecond rise time, under 1 nano- second jitter, and are amplitude variable between 2 and 12 volts. When operated in the period mode, the repetitive output is equivalent to the full range of .01 Hz to 10 MHz. As an events divider, inputs up to 10 MHz are divided to provide any preselected Nth pulse output between 1 and 100,000.
