Pilz PSS SB 3006 IBS-S Compact Safety System

The Pilz PSS SB 3006 IBS-S Compact Safety System with SafetyBUS p Connection Module is a compact safety system within a single housing. The connection to the decentralized periphery devices is made via SafetyBUS p. An additional feature to the decentralized I/Os is the ability to connect a safety-related network of several PSS systems via SafetyBUS p. The integral on-board inputs can be used for local E-STOP monitoring or for triggering a group start. They are suitable for connecting single or dual-channel safety-related input devices, with or without test pulses. The dedicated test pulses are designed for testing input devices with a load of 0.5 a. Safety systems in the PSS-range are divided into a failsafe section and a standard section. Safety-related functions can only be processed through the failsafe section. The fail-safe and standard sections communicate without feedback, i.e. potential program errors in the standard section will not affect the failsafe section. The failsafe section of the CPU operates through three diverse channels, ensuring a high level of safety. All inputs are processed separately by each channel. Each channel compares the result with the two adjacent channels. Input Signals are only valid if all three channels reach the same result. Communication with supervisory systems, e.g. for diagnostic functions or for visualization, is via the Interbus interface; if necessary this can be done via the PCP parameter channel of the user interface. An RS232/RS485 interface is available for connecting to the programming device. A separate supply may be used for the controller/test pulse outputs ("PSS PWR") and Interbus-Slave ("IBS PWR").
