The Schneider Electric / Square D SFI-534 SY/LINK Network Interface Board is a circuit board which mounts in a long expansion slot of an IBM Personal Computer or compatible. The SY/LINK board gives the computer direct access to the SY/NET Local Area Network for communication with programmable controllers and other devices.
The SY/LINK board manages network communication, relieving the user program of these tasks. The board can flag the user program when a reply, alarm condition or unsolicited message is received. An additional RS-422 port is provided which allows a second device to access the network. A block of data registers is included on the SY/LINK board which any device on the network can use for storage.
