V254 General Micro Systems Single Pentium Workstation

The General Micro Systems V254 is comprised of two assemblies: a Processor Module and an I/O Base Board. The Processor Module may be upgraded or replaced, allowing customers to keep current with the latest processor technology without the expense of redesigning their entire system. The V254 Processor Module supports single or dual Pentium P54C processors, and provides 512 KB of L2 cache. Up to 256 MB of low cost SIMM DRAM can be installed by the user. Two PCI Mezzanine Cards (PMC) can be installed to support application-specific I/O. The Processor Module's PCI bus interfaces directly to the I/O Base Board, which provides extensive workstation I/O capabilities. The I/O Base Board facilities include: UltraSCSI (up to 40 MB/ sec.), 10 and 100 Base T/T4 Ethernet with automatic detection and switching, and high performance 64 bit graphics with 2 MB DRAM for resolutions up to 1280 x 1024 at 65K colors. Also included: VMEbus A32:D64 interface, Real-time clock with 4 KB battery-backed NVRAM (SRAM), IDE port, floppy, 2 serial ports, an optional mouse port, a printer port, keyboard connector and PC-AT speaker. User LEDs and a dual 7 segment diagnostic/status display enables quick and easy board diagnostics.
