The Kontron / Thales PMC-DAADIO Intelligent Analog and Digital I/O PMC Module offers analog and digital I/O ports on a single PMC module, the PMC-DAADIO complements Thales' extensive choice of COTS and standard mezzanine cards for VME or CompactPCI SBCs in commercial or harsh environments. This board is ideal for applications requiring intensive digital and analog I/O in harsh environments, such as digital radio, fire control systems, system monitoring, and closed-loop control systems.

The PMC-DAADIO is an intelligent Motorola DSP56F807- based PMC board that provides high-speed analog and digital I/O for controlling and monitoring a wide range of external functions with a minimum amount of servicing required by the PMC host's processor. Its design allows the user to add control software into the DSP56F807's internal EPROM making the board operate autonomously without any intervention from the PMC host. The user may also use DSP software that makes it operate as a simple PMC target that performs actions based on simple commands from the PMC host. External program memory and 64K words of external data Dual Port RAM (DPRAM) provide the code developer with full DSP memory capacity. The board runs over the full -40°C to +85°C industrial temperature range.
