- Dual-Port RAM
The Systran GLD+PCI/S Series Dual-Channel MIL-STD-1553 Interface Boards provide a powerful and convenient interface between a host computer and a MIL-STD-1553 data bus. They enable the host to simultaneously operate in realtime as a MIL-STD-1553A or B protocol Bus Controller (BC), Multiple Remote Terminal (MRT) and Chronological Monitor (CM). They also provide the host with complete access to data received or transmitted on the bus and the ability to detect bus errors.
The Systran GLD+PCI/S Series Dual-Channel MIL-STD-1553 Interface Boards use a high-speed controller in conjunction with dual-port Random Access Memory (RAM) to provide a complete, intelligent 1553 emulation system. Using on-board data structures located in the dual-port RAM, the board can sustain operation on the bus without host intervention. In addition, the CM stores commands, status responses, gap times and time tags within the same buffer.
The Systran GLD+PCI/S Series Dual-Channel MIL-STD-1553 Interface Boards have been manufactured in a dual-channel (2A and 2B bus) configuration. Each channel contains 64 K of 16-bit dual-port RAM that is mapped into the PCI memory space. The dual-channel configuration provides all the functionality of two independent single-channel GLD+ multi-function boards.
The Systran GLD+PCI Dual-Channel MIL-STD-1553 Multi-Function Interface Board can operate independently or simultaneously in BC, MRT and CM modes. All MIL-STD-1553A or B protocol communication between emulated devices occurs over the 1553 bus, rather than through a local bus. The three operating modes provide extensive bus protocol error detection, such as parity and noresponse errors. This board also has the ability to inject protocol and/or electrical errors into the 1553 bus traffic.

The three operating modes provide extensive bus protocol error detection, such as parity and no-response errors. The Systran GLD+PCI Dual-Channel MIL-STD-1553 Single-Function Interface Board does not support error injection.
The Systran GLD+PCI/S Series Dual-Channel MIL-STD-1553 Interface Boards are equipped with an RS-422 port. This port provides a Discrete Output Signal (DOS) with duration of two microseconds, which may be programmed to signal the start of a buslist instruction.
The Systran GLD+PCI/S Series Dual-Channel MIL-STD-1553 Interface Boards have two on-board 32-bit elapsed timers. One timer is used for BC intermessage timing while the other tracks absolute simulation time for the chronological monitor time stamping. Each timer has one-microsecond resolution.
The GLD+PCI Systran Dual-Channel MIL-STD-1553 Multi-Function Interface Board may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
