The Astronics / EADS / Trig-Tek 620B Vibration Protector / Monitor is designed to provide independent, rapid shutdown protection for test specimens as well as vibration systems. The 620B system will accept charge or voltage mode accelerometer signals. The unit processes these signals to provide digital display of acceleration, velocity or displacement.

The 620B functions as a separate and independent monitor of displacement and selected test levels. Maximum displacement (mils p-p) abort limits can be set independent of the over-test and under-test shutdown limits, which are selectable in nine steps from 1 to 6dB. An abort of either monitor will initiate a transient free shutdown of the vibration system and activates the two auxiliary shutdown relays. Shutdown time is proportional to the operating frequency when in Sine mode (slower at low frequency and faster at high frequency) and is fixed at 330 milliseconds when in Random mode.

The Astronics 620B Vibration Protector / Monitor may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
