Emerson / Mizar 8115 CPU VME Module Overview

The Emerson / Mizar 8115 CPU VME Module is a 3U x 160mm VMEbus CPU module which has been designed to allow for easy customization to a full 6U x 160mm board. The 8115 is designed to be installed in the P1 connector of the VMEbus. Installing the 8115 into the P2 slot on any VMEbus system may cause damage to both the 8115 and the P2 bus.

The 8115 has an MXbus connector, labeled S1.Typical applications for the MXbus connector would expand the MZ 8115 to include additional serial or parallel ports, floppy disk control, or additional memory. The expanded board can use the P2 connector to handle upper address and data lines, as well as for user defined lines. Mizar's MZ 8800 Series of MXbus expansion modules connect directly to the MZ 8115's S1 connector.

The Mizar 8115 CPU VME Module may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
