Tek Microsystems FP-Serial2-422 2 Channel EIA-422 FastPack Serial I/O Overview
Features:
- Built Around Zilog Z16C30
- Fully Compliant with ANSI/VITA 4-1995 and IndustryPack Specifications
- PLL-Based Clock Synthesizer for Each Channel
- EPLD-Based Clock Extraction Circuit
- Turnkey SOftware and Drivers for Motorola MVME162 and MVME172 Carrier Boards
The SmartSerial controller also extends the asynchronous data rate of the Z16C30 from 625 Kbps to 2.5 Mbps by providing a high speed clock extraction circuit. The use of an external clock allows data rates as high as 10 Mbps.
Each communications channel has its own PLL-based clock synthesizer for generation of arbitrary baud rates with little or no error.
