The Pro-Dex / Oregon Micro Systems PC3x-Series Intelligent Motion Controllers are manufactured in models which can manage as many as 8 axes on a single plug-in card. They function as a motion co-processor within the ISA bus computer. The host application software can be written in any language which has the ability to do I/O. These modules occupy a user selectable block of 4 I/O ports within the host. The interrupt level is user selectable or the board may be operated in a polled environment. All connections are brought out to the end of the cards for convenience in system implementation.
The PC34 Series features low cost precision motor control. Up to 4 axes in one 2/3 length PC/XT/AT bus card. Synchronized or independent axes motion. Cosine (S curve), parabolic and linear acceleration/deceleration profiles. Up to 20 bits of user definable I/O are available. Complex move sequences, time delays, status checks and control of other external events can be programmed through the PC34 motion controller.
The PCX Series supports up to 6 axes of precision motor control on one full length PC/XT/AT bus card. This series adds circular interpolation on any two axes. Plus, constant velocity contouring on up to six axes.
The PC39 offers up to 8 axes of precision motor contro lon one full length PC/XT/AT bus card. Encoder feedback is available on 2 to 4 axes. Up to 22 bits of user definable I/O is available for sensing and control of external events. The IO38 provides an efficient means for connecting the PC39 I/O signals to external devices, plus 8 separate DB9 sockets for attachment of individual motor drives.
Module features a 50-pin male connector, (3) Xilinx XC2064-70PC68C FPGAs, and (1) Motorola MC68000P8 CPU at 8 MHz all in an ISA form factor.
The PCX-6 OMS Motion Module may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
