The Pentek Model 4248 is a data acquisition expansion module for the Pentek series of VME/ MIX Baseboards. It provides up to 32 channels of A/D conversion to 12-bit accuracy (optionally 14 bits) with a total maximum conversion time of less than 10 µsec. The inputs are connected to 32 sample-and-hold amplifiers for simultaneous sampling, making this device the ideal choice for multi-channel applications in which phase relationships between channels must be maintained.

Pentek 4248 32-Channel 12-Bit A/D Converter Overview
Features:
- Modular Interface Extension
- 32-Bit Bus Technology for VMEbus Systems
- Address Capability of 4 GB
This unit uses Intel's Modular Interface eXtension (MIX) technology to combine a Pentek MIX baseboard with three Pentek 4343 expansion modules, creating a triple-slot unit for 32-bit VMEbus systems. The MIX bus is a high performance stacking and communications interface to connect expansion modules to a VMEbus baseboard. Pentek and other manufacturers adopted this bus because of its speed, reliability and flexibility. This private bus allows not only for high-speed data transfers between modules, but also for extremely compact and reliable subsystem design. The Pentek model 4343 expansion module is a 2-channel A/D - D/A converter with DC - 192 kHz TTL levels.
The Pentek 4248 32-Channel 12-Bit A/D Converter may still be available for purchase and support from Artisan Technology Group beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
